PetSmart Adoption Days

This past weekend Loyal Rescue and Kenzie attended the PetSmart Adoption Days. Kenzie attend the 3 day event several times for a few hours each time. Her first visit she was very shy and would not take take treats from visiting customers. Day two, she started to take treats and allowed people to pet her. She still definitely feels more comfortable with women than men. I was so proud of how well she did.

Fashion Show

What fun. Kenzie and I went shopping this weekend and pick out some nice new coats and sweaters for her. Here she is modeling her new clothes.

Day 7

Kenzie went on a big outing to the pet store today. She did really well. She was, of course, shy but the staff were great with her. They sat on the floor and offered her treats. At first she would only eat the treats off the floor but after a few minutes she was taking them from their hands.

Day 6

Kenzie's new achievements:

- started to go in and out of the house on her own now

- has done her 'business' outside 2 days in a row

- came to the front door to check out some visitors

It is so wonderful to watch her bloom. Everyday she seems to take a step or two or three forward.  

Day 5

After our morning walk and breakfast, Kenzie seemed a little frisky so I decided to try playing with her by throwing a ball and alternatively a rope toy. Watch this adorable girl break out of her shell and play!!

Day 4

Started to play with her four-legged foster brothers & sister in the back yard!

I was throwing the ball for my Shepherd/Husky mix when Kenzie decided to run after her. It was so cute.

Also, for anyone who has house trained a dog, it is exciting when they finally do 'their business' outside. This morning Kenzie ran off across the yard on her own and did just that. I felt like a new Mom when a toddler asks to use the potty!!!! Yaaaaayyyy Kenzie!!!!!

Willing came out of her x-pen in the morning and has started to follow me around the house.

Welcome Kenzie!

Meet Kenzie, a sweet Pomeranian from a puppymill in Ohio. Kenzie just arrived today so she is just getting settled in. Check back regularly for updates and photos as we learn more about this little doll.

YAY! Baby has been adopted!

Sunday, December 11th, Baby went to his new forever home! A nice young couple has opened their heart and home to him. Congratulations Baby boy.

Baby loves to be near people so he sleeps on my desk when I'm working in my office.

Baby's New Jumpsuit

As I mentioned in Friday's blog, Baby's measurements were taken for a custom jumpsuit. Well it has arrived and it fits perfectly. A big Thank You goes out to Wendy of QB Collars (www.qbcollars.com) for generously making and donating this custom made jumpsuit to help keep little Baby warm.

Belly Rub

Last night, while tucking Baby into bed, which consists of laying him on his bed, wrapping his blanket around him and spending a few minutes petting him, for the first time he rolled over onto his back for a belly rub!! He likes to give little licks while I do this.

Getting To Know Baby

Well, Baby has been with us for just over one week now. Baby is a sweet, sweet boy who is very quiet. He only barks when someone comes to the door and I think that is only because his foster siblings are barking. Being a senior boy he loves to curl up on any soft surface and take a nap.

Baby arrived with just one small sweater so his measurements have been taken and sent off to the tailor for a custom jumpsuit.

Baby - 4 lb. Chihuahua

Welcome to Baby's Blog.

Baby is my new foster dog with Loyal Rescue. Baby is a darling little Chihuahua weighing in at a whopping 3.9 lbs.! He is a senior guy at 10 years old. He is an owner surrender who finds himself looking for a new forever home.
